SCRMC Offers Free Support Group

A Grief Support Group is offered by the St Croix Regional Medical Center for people who have experienced grief or loss of a loved one. The group meets on Tuesdays, beginning March 11 through May 16, 2017 Two groups are offered; mornings from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, or evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Meeting are held at the St Croix Regional Medical Center in St Croix Falls. Save the Date: Polk County Suicide Awareness Walk May 20

The 2nd Annual Polk County Suicide Awareness Walk takes place Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Pine Park in Balsam Lake. The inaugural event last September was a huge success as an estimated 500 people attended in support of mental health and suicide prevention awareness in Polk County. Together, we raised more than $30,000 in support of the Mental Health Task Force of Polk County. The Polk County Suicide Awareness Walk  features a 5K walk, survivor memorials, mental health resources, a program, entertainment and more. Thank You Bowlers! Congratulations and thank you to the participants of the 2nd Annual Kevin Adam Prindle memorial bowling tournament, who raised $3500 for the Mental Health Task Force in support of  our programs and services.  The event took place November 5 and 6, at the Club 53 Bar and Bowling Center in Amery. Task Force Awarded Grant from United Way St Croix Valley

The Mental Health Task Force of Polk County was recently awarded a grant by the United Way St Croix Valley’s Success by Six program. The vision for Success by Six is that All children in our communities by age six, with the strong support of family and community, will have the necessary physical, mental, emotional and social development to successfully grow and learn. The funding was granted in support of the Task Force’sHealthy Beginnings home-based program, which provides no-cost, mental health therapy for pre-K children and their families in the home setting.
