In 2010, the Mental Health Task Force of Polk County began the Back-of-the-Door Campaign, our initiative designed to raise awareness about available resources and providers, and reduce the stigma associated with seeking treatment.
For the Back-of-the-Door Campaign, we have designed over 100 posters addressing a widerange of mental health, suicide prevention, and addiction issues; these posters depict many different demographic groups.
The Mental Health Task Force, with the consent of participating facilities, places these posters on the backs of bathroom doors or other approved places in businesses, hospitals, schools, and social service organizations throughout Polk County.
