Healthy Beginnings

Healthy Beginnings is a collaborative project funded by a grant from the Osceola Community Health Foundation.  The program provides no fee early intervention mental health services for home and school. The mission of Healthy Beginnings is to help break the cycle of systemic and inter-generational trauma that leads to mental illness and substance abuse within our community.

Prevention and early intervention, through mental health therapy, will be the main force to break these unhealthy patterns of behavior.  It is essential that we reduce problems in accessing care by bringing treatment to residents in the school and home.

Healthy Beginnings works in collaboration with Polk County Early Learning Center’s Head Start Program, the Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley, and the Polk County Birth to Three program to provide direct services in the home setting with high-risk infants, toddlers and their families.

Our goal is to reduce or eliminate mental health concerns and enhance the healthy attachment between caregivers and their infants and toddlers.

Our goal is to identify and reduce the mental health issues that block early learning and the formation of social success. Healthy Beginnings offers an eight-week therapeutic program with the emphasis on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy by a licensed mental health therapist.

This will include one-on-one therapy and family education.
